Interview with the publishers on

Vampires do exist. In abundance, in fact. Everything, from the wet baby plastic teenager dream via the soulless cash stripper through to the final zombie nuisance, has already lowered its contaminated, hollow teeth into my white and naturally innocent throat. But this time, it was all different.

As one of the editors tells us – see interview below –, vampirism involves much more than sucking blood and fearing garlic. In fact, it is a matter of parasitism, a matter of exploiting plagued organisms, a matter of parking oneself on other people’s souls. So it is quite obvious that there are (almost) no sharp teeth to be found in this monstrous art book. Pale youngsters who, in spite of anaemia, march with a permanent hard-on through the plastic cemetery of stereotypissing stupidity, are neither to be found there. Instead, many of the shown pictures deal with the topic only at second glance. This is another special feature of this book, apart from the fact that you can expose yourself to the urging call of the living dead in various different ways: drawings, collages, sculptures, photos, music. Some of the depicted artists (for example Chet Zar and Scott Radke) are already familiar to our readers since they spat into the dark basement of INSIDE artzine once before. Nearly all of them are real pros from the – mainly American – comic / movie / art scene (30 Days of Night, Batman, Silent Hill, Hellboy, Tank Girl; there is a complete list below the interview). So don’t expect some pissing pop corn but a profound, dark, abundant, kitschy, excellent, high end mental movie.
